Topping up the pressure in your boiler is a simple process that can usually be done in a few easy steps:
Locate the pressure gauge. The pressure gauge is typically located on the front of your boiler and displays the current pressure of the system.
Check the pressure. The pressure should be between 1 and 2 bars, if it is below 1 bar, you need to top up the pressure.
Find the filling loop. The filling loop is a small valve located near the pressure gauge and is often marked with a blue handle.
Open the valve. Turn the blue handle on the filling loop anti-clockwise to open it. You may hear a hissing noise as the pressure starts to increase.
Check the pressure gauge. Keep an eye on the pressure gauge and stop turning the blue handle when the pressure reaches the recommended level. This is usually between 1 and 2 bars.
Close the valve. Once the pressure has reached the desired level, turn the blue handle clockwise to close the valve.
Check for leaks. Wait for a few minutes and check for any leaks. If there are no leaks, your boiler pressure is now at the correct level.
Note: If you are unsure about topping up your boiler pressure, it is best to seek the assistance of a professional heating engineer.
